Mountain West Connection All-Bowl Team

The conference’s top bowl performances are highlighted here

The bowl season is behind us, and all eyes are on the National Championship game. The Mountain West had seven teams that participated this bowl season and finished the bowl slate with three wins and four losses. While the bowl results may not have gone how the conference would have liked, there were some really good performances. Let’s take a look at the Mountain West’s top performers of the bowl season.

QB: Mikey Keene (Fresno State). Keene completed 31 of 39 passes for 380 yards and had three touchdowns.

RB: Emmanuel Michel (Air Force). The senior back had a huge day carrying the ball 35 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns.

RB: George Holani (Boise State). Holani’s final college football game was one of his best, carrying the ball 17 times for 138 yards and adding one reception for 45 yards.

WR: Ricky White (UNLV). White had seven receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown.

WR: Jacob De Jesus (UNLV) De Jesus also had a big day receiving with eight catches for 95 yards.

WR: Terrell Vaughn (Utah State). Vaughn had 8 catches for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Potato Bowl.

TE: Sam Olson (San Jose State). The junior tight end had a career day with four catches for 96 yards in the Hawaii Bowl.

OL Unit: Air Force: The Falcons had a dominant day in the trenches. Air Force was able to dictate the flow of the game with a consistent rushing attack.

Kicker: John Hoyland (Wyoming). Hoyland made all three of his field goal attempts including the game winner.

Kick Returner: Terrell Vaughn (Utah State) Vaughn had two kick returns for 61 yards.

DL: Payton Zdroik (Air Force). Zdroik was a force for the Falcons leading the team with two tackles for loss.

DL: Cole Godbout (Wyoming). Godbout was a force inside for the Cowboys, making it difficult to run the ball for Toledo.

DL: Paul Fitzgerald (Utah State) Fitzgerald had three sacks for the Aggies.

DL: Tre Smith (San Jose State). Smith had eight tackles and a sack in their loss to Coastal Carolina.

LB: Bryun Parham (San Jose State). Parham led the Spartans with twelve tackles

LB: MJ Tafisi Jr. (Utah State). The Aggie linebacker had a big day with eleven tackles.

LB: Bo Richter (Air Force). Richter had a massive day for the Falcons with three sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.

DB: Cameron Oliver (UNLV). Oliver had two huge interceptions for the Rebels and added five tackles.

DB: Dean Clark (Fresno State). Clark had six tackles and an interception for the Bulldogs in their win over New Mexico State.

DB: Alexander Teubner (Boise State). Teubner led the Broncos with twelve tackles.

DB: Isaac White (Wyoming). White had a big interception for the Cowboys who were able to come away with a big victory in Craig Bohl’s final game as head coach.

Punter: James Ferguson-Reynolds (Boise State). JFR averaged 51.8 yards on his four punts.

Punt Returner: Erik Brooks (Fresno State): Brooks had three punt returns for 45 yards including a long of 33 yards.
