The Rebels, against all odds, have shown they are here to compete in the Mountain West. They have gone above and beyond this season and would love to keep it rolling to hang a championship banner this season.

Last Week Recap

UNLV needed a win going into this week. The Mountain West Championship race was coming down to the wire. Air Force was another one of the teams fighting for a spot in the championship game. This was a make or break game for each team.

The Rebels struck first with a 78-yard touchdown catch and run by WR Ricky White. It was their second play of the game.

At the end of the first half, Air Force led 27-14. UNLV’s second touchdown was ran in by RB Vincent Davis.

UNLV defense kept the Air Force to no points in the second half which gave QB Jayden Maiava and his offense the reigns to get the lead back. Another rushing TD, this time by RB Donavyn Lester, and a passing TD to TE Kaleo Ballungay put the Rebels up 28-27. The only points in the 4th Quarter was a Field Goal by K Jose Pizano. This put Air Force needing a Touchdown to win.

The UNLV defense held them out of the Endzone and the game ended with the score of 31-27, Rebels win.

This Week

The Rebels take on San Jose State on Saturday, Novemeber 25th at 12:00 PM PT or 3:00 PM ET. With Fresno State losing to New Mexico last week and to San Jose the week before, they are out of championship contention. It will either be UNLV, San Jose State, Air Force or Boise State in the championship game.

If UNLV can keep playing they have been under the motivation of Coach Odom, they should have a chance to win this game and have the Mountain West Championship in Allegiant Stadium. If the Rebels win, they will play the winner of Air Force and Boise State.
