Recap

The Rebel Football team finished their great season with a loss in the Mountain West Championship Game. Coach Odom impressed on how he was able to bring a team who could barely get to a .500 record in the past to the MWC Championship Game and a overall 9-4 record.

Boise State came out firing putting up 31 points in the first half compared to UNLV’s 17, one of these touchdowns coming from a LB Fred Thompkins Jr. pick six in the 2nd Quarter. While Boise kept on the gas, UNLV slowed in the second half with only scoring 3 points.

Mountain West Freshman of the Year, QB Jayden Maiava struggled against the Boise State team. He only threw for 166 yards and had two INTs before getting taken out for the quarterback he replaced, QB Doug Brumfield. This was a big game for the young quarterback, but he should be back in the spot light in the future.

The ground attack against the Broncos also struggled with them only running for under a 100 yards total. The leading rusher, RB Vincent Davis Jr. saw the most carries and ran for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Boise State was prepared for this UNLV team even though this was the first time playing each other all season. They went into the Rebels home field and got the job done.

The final score was 44-20, Broncos.
